Become a certified Green Business through your county
Green certification programs differ from county to county, state to state. You should check with your local county department to ask if they have a green certification program.
Why should your business get certified?
1. It's right for the environment. Saving water, energy and raw materials is important - it saves landfill conserves our precious resources and sends less to the landfill.
2. It's good business to be an example for other. Many customers appreciate the efforts of green certified companies.
3. Your employees will appreciate working for a company who cares for the environment. They'll be safer too.

Five Quick, Easy Things You are can do to help the environment (and save some money too).
1. Recycle as much material as possible. This includes excess cellophane, shred and ribbon clippings; paper, printer cartridges and packing slips.
2. Reuse cardboard boxes, packaging material and paper.
3. Institute an e-invoicing program instead of printing and mailing invoices. It's virtually free to email. Ask your suppliers to do the same. Consider using email marketing instead of traditional printed products. Don't request your suppliers to send you catalogs - use their website instead.
4. Work with suppliers who are green certified. Ask them if they are and encourage them to be.
5. Do the obvious - use proper light bulbs. Turn off all office equipment when not in use. Use recycled content paper and shipping boxes.
It's the little things that count too.
Considering printing double sided when you have to print. Reduce the font size - less pages is best. Cancel your printed phone book subscription. Use eMagazine subscriptions as much as possible.
